Course Objectives

Participants will understand eTOD regulatory requirements and will be able to define and apply an efficient eTOD survey methodology adapted to local constraints.

This course provides a comprehensive overview of eTOD requirements and practical implementation. The training follows the structure below :


Part 1 : Introduction and basic concepts

  • Introduction and objectives

  • Stakeholders involved

  • eTOD data collection (terrain, obstacles, data originators)

  • Verification and validation

  • Link between eTOD and procedure design


Part 2 : Operational concept

  • Complete eTOD workflow

  • Terrain and obstacle attributes

  • Analysis of AIP AD 2 section


Part 3 : Focus on design

  • eTOD area design principles

  • Design of eTOD areas based on AIP

  • Automated tools for area design

Instructor evaluation based on the successful completion of the proposed exercises.
