CGX AME
A subsidiary of CGX AERO
Founded in 2022 and based in Tunis, CGX AME (African Middle East) is a subsidiary of CGX AERO, specializing in the development of services and data for publishing aeronautical information, with a strong focus on digitalization and new technologies. The company's mission is to support aeronautical information stakeholders in their needs for modernization, digitalization, and outsourcing of services while ensuring security, quality, and cutting-edge solutions.
CGX AME aims to support professionals in the aeronautical information sector by providing tailored digital solutions. Leveraging the expertise and support of its parent company, CGX AERO, the company plays a key role in the technological evolution of the aeronautical industry.
Areas of Activity
The company is organized around two main areas of activity:
-
Software Development: Designing and developing innovative software solutions tailored to the specific needs of aeronautical information.
-
Digitalization, Geomatics, and Aeronautical Cartography: Specializing in the digitalization of aeronautical geographic data, the production of aeronautical charts, and the collection and validation of eTOD and AMDB data.
These areas aim to create digital products that comply with the latest standards, are validated, interoperable, and cost-effective.
Resources and Expertise
With a growing team of IT and geomatics engineers, CGX AME benefits from the expertise and technologies developed by CGX AERO. The company specializes in the handling and qualification of aeronautical data as well as cartographic production.
Among the tools used are:
-
GéoTITAN®: An advanced solution for managing and designing flight trajectories.
-
Data4Flight®: An aeronautical data management system based on AIXM 5.1.
-
AIP-GIS Charting®: An integrated and automated aeronautical charting tool.
These software solutions play a key role in CGX AME's innovative approach to providing high-quality services in the aeronautical information sector.
References
PAOLA
PAOLA is an innovative web platform designed to simplify the evaluation of protection zones and obstacle limitations for flight trajectories. It allows users, even those without aeronautical expertise, to easily understand constraints related to flight paths and aeronautical servitudes.
CGX AME made a major contribution to the success of this platform through its expertise in managing aeronautical data.
-
Contribution of CGX AME:
-
AIP Data Transformation (AIXM): Data from aeronautical information publications (AIP) was adapted by CGX AME from AIXM 4.5 to AIXM 5.1, ensuring compatibility with the tools used in PAOLA.
-
Digitization of Aeronautical Charts: AIP charts were digitized and trajectories encoded in AIXM 5.1, ensuring compliance with international standards and maximum accuracy.
-
Regulatory Compliance: Integrating the recommendations of PANS-OPS and ICAO Annex 14 was crucial to ensure that all flight trajectories meet safety standards. The tools GéoTITAN® and Data4Flight® played a key role in this digitalization process.
-
Data Verification and Validation: A rigorous data validation process was conducted by CGX AME in collaboration with CGX AERO to ensure the reliability and accuracy of the information presented on PAOLA.
-
Through this collaboration, CGX AME has ensured that the data on PAOLA is accurate, compliant with international requirements, and easily usable by its users.
En Route Charts for ASECNA
CGX AME completed a project for the digitalization and production of the four en route charts for ASECNA (Agency for the Safety of Air Navigation in Africa and Madagascar). This project involved modernizing the aeronautical data to comply with international standards.
-
Digitalization and Data Completion: En route and airspace data were extracted from AIXM 4.5 and integrated into an AIXM 5.1 database using Data4Flight®, ensuring optimized data management and compliance with the latest standards.
-
Production of En Route Charts: Using AIP-GIS Charting®, the en route charts were generated in an automated manner and in compliance with ICAO recommendations, ensuring precision and accuracy in the published data.

-
Radionavigation Charts - Lower Airspace Madagascar View Chart
-
Radionavigation Charts - Upper Airspace West and Central Africa View Chart

This project enabled ASECNA to obtain digitized, up-to-date aeronautical charts that meet international standards, facilitating aeronautical information management in the African region.
Digitalization of Procedures in Romania
As part of the SPICE project, CGX AME contributed to the digitalization of flight procedures in Romania by coding all trajectories developed by CGX AERO into AIXM 5.1 format. These data cover a wide range of procedures (STAR, SID, approaches) and navigation types (conventional and PBN), and were subsequently delivered to ROMATSA (the Romanian air navigation service provider) for integration into their internal database.
The coded procedures are distributed to users in the form of a data catalogue, facilitating their use by aviation stakeholders in Romania.
