Course Objectives

Participants will gain a clear understanding of EASA regulatory requirements and will be able to address certification challenges, particularly in the context of regulatory changes.

Prerequisite(s)

Master the vocabulary of airport infrastructures and have a basic knowledge of airports.

Content

This course provides a structured and operational overview of the EASA regulatory framework and its application to airport certification and operations. The training follows the structure below :


Understanding the EASA regulatory framework

  • Structure of the regulations and alternative means of compliance (SC, DAAD, ELOS)

  • Key infrastructure requirements (CS)

  • Key operational requirements (OR/OPS)

  • Expected regulatory developments


Maintaining the EASA certificate

  • Management systems (SMS and compliance monitoring): essential principles

  • Focus on compliance monitoring: regulatory watch, audits, corrective actions follow-up

  • Coordination with third parties

  • Competency monitoring


Change management – Part 1

  • Definition of a change

  • Methods for assessing change compliance (CS, OR/OPS)

  • Updating the certification database


Change management – Part 2

  • EISA and risk analysis

  • Key elements for conformity assessment (lighting, aeronautical clearances, radio-electric easements, etc.)

  • Practical exercise
