Course Objectives

At the end of this module, participants will be able to manage obstacle data collection and apply AIM principles to produce compliant obstacle charts.

Prerequisite(s)

Demonstrate knowledge or initial experience in using GIS systems.

Content

The Cartographer Professionalization – Module 2 course focuses on the production of obstacle charts (Type A, Type B, PATC and TOD). The training follows the structure below :


  • Introduction to eTOD concepts

  • Inventory of required data for chart production

  • Preparation of geographical data

  • Introduction to AIXM concepts and temporality (practical examples)

  • Digitalization and preparation of aeronautical data

  • Review of ICAO requirements

  • On-the-job training: chart production using GIS and AIM tools

  1. This course is developed in partnership with ENAC Toulouse. Registration and further information are available on ENAC’s website.


  2. Each module of the Cartographer Professionalization program can be attended independently. There is no requirement to complete all modules or to follow them in a specific order.
